Federal grants

Maryland State grants and scholarships

The State of Maryland offers several scholarship and grant programs, both need-based and non-need based, to help those who need financial assistance for a college education.

DC-resident scholarships

You can use your DC scholarship dollars and benefits at MC, including DCTAG (DC Tuition Assistance Grant), DC TAPIT (DC Tuition Assistance Program initiative for TANF), and DC CAP (DC College Access Program).

Outside scholarships

MC publicizes information from various businesses, foundations, and civic organizations about scholarships they offer to students.

Work-study

The MC financial aid office coordinates Federal Work Study (FWS), which provides employment for students. Jobs may be located on or off campus and offer you the opportunity to work in a part-time temporary capacity.

Student loans

There are two types of student loans: federal loans, which are funded by the federal government, and private loans, which are funded by private entities such as banks, credit unions, or other lending institutions.
